At our Nisku, Alberta mill, our small team produces yarn with three fibre compositions:

• 100% Qiviut Yarn: 2-ply, 437 yards, 58 grams (lace weight)
• Niviuk Yarn (60% Qiviut, 30% Cashmere, 10% Silk): 2-ply, 437 yards, 58 grams (lace weight)
• Qiviut Fingram Sock Yarn (40% Qiviut, 35% SW Merino, 15% Silk, 10% Nylon): 3-ply, 375 yards, 100 grams (fingering/sock weight)

Our yarns sell out quickly! We are always hard at working preparing qiviut fibre and milling our yarn blends. If a blend is not already in production, it may take several weeks to prepare a new run.

Note on our yarn blends and their suitability:

• 100% Qiviut: Our most popular and precious yarn, the 100% qiviut is soft, warm, and very difficult to felt accidentally. Somewhat like alpaca, these fine fibres may relax over time, leading to small changes in the shape of the knitwear. 

For knitwear with greater 'memory,' try a blend that contains silk, cashmere, or wool, such as:

• Niviuk Yarn (60% Qiviut, 30% Cashmere, 10% Silk): a luxurious blend of precious fibres, suitable for any project
• Qiviut Fingram Sock Yarn (40% Qiviut, 35% SW Merino Wool, 15% Silk, 10% Nylon): our strongest blend offers the warmth and comfort of qiviut, merino wool, and silk along with the nylon that will keep your socks going over time

We dye our yarn in-house in small batches. Colourways emerge in slightly different ways according to the base fibre blend: please see each yarn's product page for colour options, or view our colourway lookbook here.
