'Brush-off' is the fibre that collects on the round brush at the end of the carding machine. This is intact, perfectly usable fibre that can easily be re-carded--though silk blends may exhibit higher proportions of silk than the original blend. These handfuls are ideal for hand- or machine-carding, felting, or anything that you can imagine. Please note that there will be a few muskoxen guard hairs in with the fibre.
Brush-off is available in the following compositions (blend percentages are approximate):
- 100% qiviut (washed and partially dehaired)
- Niviuk (60% qiviut, 30% cashmere, 10% silk)
- Sock (40% qiviut, 35% superwash merino wool, 15% silk, 10% nylon)
